I have been having a blast this last month! Actually more like the past 2 weeks. I finally got my first listing up on Etsy on October 8th! It as been going great so far!
I've made four separate sales with 5 items sold. I'm also working on a trade with another Etsian (yes, that's what Etsy artists are called, just like Washingtonians). Simone of Masterpieces of Fun Art makes hair clips, headbands, and other accessories for babies and since I liked her goods, I asked her if she would be interested in trading goods. She took a look at my Etsy shop and my Facebook Fan Page and decided she wanted my favorite bracelet to give to her sister as a Christmas gift. (Yup, it's not too early to think about the holidays!) Just in case her sister stumbles upon this blog from Simone's FB page or something, I'm not going to post a link to the bracelet. If you're curious, let me know and I'll send it to you privately.
I have been hard at work trying to finish up taking pictures of my existing jewelry pieces so I can create listings for them. I also have to measure them, come up with descriptions... retailing is hard work! Oh, and just when I thought I had my packaging figured out, I realized what I've got may not work for rings! I've gotta think that one through and come up with a solution for rings... especially since I just listed "DO THE TWIST" ring tonight.
Anyway, it has been so great to get such positive feedback from everyone on my stuff... I am buoyed by your support and I feel so inspired to make new designs! Back to work now!
